Have been trying to make the best out of my time staying at home, reconnecting with friends online and trying out new things. Sharing a few that I tried and love!
1. House Party

Throw a house party the right way! You can hold group video chats with your friends on the Houseparty app and play games like Trivia, Quick Draw and Heads Up etc. The app is free to download on iOS/Andriod phones though you may have to pay for some games. The only downside is that it drains the phone battery really fast :(
This app is definitely growing in popularity. Ever since I downloaded this app last week, I have been getting at least 5 notifications a day about new friends on my contact list joining the platform 😂
2. 全民Party

This is my favourite mobile app on the list because I am a huge Karaoke fan! Sadly karaokes in Singapore were among the first wave of business establishments to halt operations due to Covid-19 :(
全民Party, like many other Chinese apps, are complicated/hard to understand at first. But once you get a hang of the basic functions, it gets really fun to use! Basic functionalities I have figured out so far:
“抢唱” -> This is similar to "don't forget the lyrics" challenge. You and a few friends/random people on the app will be in a virtual room with random songs playing and whoever hits the 抢唱 button first gets to continue singing. The app rates your singing after you are done each time so it's hilarious whenever anyone of us gets a really low score 😂
“派对” -> Virtual karaoke room, you can either set as a private room for your friends only/open to the public. The mic can only be used by the singer, hence remaining people in the room will have to use the live chat board to communicate! They do have some wacky suggestion for messages that you got to see for yourself 🤣
Unfortunately, this app will be challenging to navigate for people who can't read Chinese. I may consider translating the app if there's any request 🤔
3. Tik Tok

Tik Tok is not new to most people but I have only learnt to appreciate it now that I spend most of my time at home! They say Instagram is for 90s kids while Tik Tok is for 00s and after, I clearly missed the cut-off LOL.
Since everyone is probably familiar with the app I will just share on a few users that I follow!
He shares crazy luxury houses in US which is a huge eye-opener. I am also a huge kaypoh LOL
She is literally what her username says, with her feed filled with pasta recipes and super chic get-up. My favourite part is her Italian accent when she speaks English because it just adds that authenticity to her recipes 😝
If you have watched American reality shows you would love his parodies because his videos are on point with the staged dramas, voiceover interviews and meltdowns. Best of all even the music transition is the same 🤣
That summarises my top 3 go-to apps during the Circuit Breaker! Would love to know about any apps that I've missed out on :)
