Wanting a Smart Home đĄ
It first started off as a want to switch on my heater without having to walk all the way to the service yard (itâs like a huge u-turn from my MBR). Then it became wanting to switch off any lights or fans even without a remote (have a tendency to misplace these things).
Even now, KA and I take turns to grumble while walking to switch off the lights when we realise weâre nicely tucked in bed already. đ (We usually chat before we sleep).
Yes, lazy we are. #KJlovenest #happitat
Now, it has gone to airconditioners. That doesnât bother me as much though. But light fans and heater? I hope they can be controlled remotely via my phone.
Weâre meeting a smart home vendor my ID introduced to get a feel of the prices, because Iâve done research the past few months on how to do it on my own. Of course I am afraid it is too technical for me, but I read up for a while, so the know-how is somewhat there.
Shall see if topping up some $ is worth the effort saved đ
Smart homes have been around for a long time. A friend told me, in 2014, people were already finding ways to get their motorised windows to close automatically when it rains. Heck, thatâs too high-tech, I donât even need motorised blinds. I donât want to become too wired and lazy. I think smart switches have already made me a very lazy person. Lol. đ

The vendor distributes this system and he does it for cheaper than other companies (based on research), no packages so it depends on how many we need.
Based on what I need, it is abt $1k plus.
It uses Z-wave.
